LA-MSID Only Page

Tim and Mike;

I've added some training videos on Modems and RF407s here for you to use anytime you need.  I also cover the GetVariables commands and how to add or remove variables that get transmitted.

Lastly are some programming orginaizational tools I use that you may want to adopt.  Since you are in the "Modem Era" now, and getting four stations communicating into one, things can get messy fast.  I've learned this the hard way, so I developed these tactics to help me keep sense of it all.

All this information and videos is viewable on your phones or tablets as well!

1 - Start Here,  2:00 min

This video is to show you more about this page and how to access it.

2 - Connections;  8:50 min

Reviewing how to connect to a station, through the S-CR-2 modem and out to a remote station's RF407.  This can be done to reach S-CR-1, S-CR-3, S-H-2, and S-D-2.

3 - GetVariables;  8:35 min

Here we review how to add, or deduct, variables that are received into the S-CR-2 station from any of the other remote sites.

4 - Editing GetVariables;  23:30 min

You will probably want to change the variables received into the S-CR-2 station some day.  This video walks you through how to do that, along with how to change the quantity of variables that are exchanged between the S-CR-2 "Base Station" and the peripheral stations.

5 - Programming Strategies, with e-mail and text messaging processes;  30:50 min

I have my own technique for programming and the organization of all sections in a program.  I use lots of notes, to add maximum clarity, and name all variables with clear titles.  Watch this and observe what I use, take some for your own if you feel the need.  Nothing is required of you here, these are only suggestions based on what I've learned.

Also, the video covers the procedure for e-mail and texting from the modem directly to any staff.  With these Campbell loggers, there are NO limitations to what you can design in for control or communications.  This section illustrates some of that.

6 - Contact Lists;  6:15 min

Instructions on making contact lists that will receive e-mails or text messages, depending on what site condition is triggered.
